Trailhead: From Tupper Lake, take Route 3 east towards Saranac Lake. At the intersection of Route 30, 5.5 miles from downtown Tupper, turn north. Follow Route 30 west for 5.75 miles to Floodwood Road on the right – this is easy to drive by. Follow Floodwood Road for 6.25 miles and watch for signs for Floodwood Mountain. There will be a turnoff on the left near the end with a sign that says "Floodwood Reservation".
From the gate you will be hiking along a forest road, where a bit of flooding often occurs due to beaver activity. The road will split but don’t follow the left fork.
About: With its moderate terrain and outstanding view, Floodwood Mountain is a great choice for a family outing.

Trailhead: The intersection of Jay Mountain Road and Upland Meadows Road, which is reached from Rt. 9N in Upper Jay by taking Trumbulls Rd. for 2.5 miles where it becomes Jay Mt. Rd., which is followed another 0.8 mi to Upland Meadows Rd.
About: For fans of open ridge hiking, Jay Mountain is for you. Dubbed "The Highway in the Sky, this mountain provides east and west summits with endless views. The Jay Mountain lookout provides a 360 degree view of the Adirondacks and Lake Champlain. After the lookout take the ridge the rest of the way for one of the most unique experiences the Adirondacks offer.

About: Silver Lake Mountain is a great “bang for your buck” destination. This short trail is perfect for the entire family and offers some outstanding views out over Taylor Pond, Union Falls Pond, Silver Lake, Catamount and Whiteface Mountain's northern slopes. The trail to the top has several open views and rocky sections along the way.
